Chapter Sixteen.
A choice.


Sooner then they realized it they were down the mountain and headed toward home they were all going home as heroes!

But something continued to bother Slevantus and he talked about it with Thimor.
She knew he was in love with Amber and although she was Jealous of him she knew they were not meant to be. There relationship was something no one could understand and she spoke to him and told him he should do what his heart told him to do so he made up his mind as Grendle left them to go back to his village to tell all the good news.

Danfare had only two days left before he two would go his own way.

Which would leave only Jasper and Amber and themselves.

He would wait until then.

The day came all to quickly after farewell hugs and handshakes they were soon only four around the fire that night.

Thimor soon got into a conversation about something with Jasper and he took his chance he stood up and said"I will take a small walk who would like to come with me" ?

Amber stood up the others did not answer they were deep in there conversation so the two of them made there way to the edge of the forest.

There was a uncomfortable silence as they stared up a the stars.

"Beautiful isn’t it"?Asked Amber looking up into the night sky.

"Yes it is" Said he "and you make it complete".

It was dark but he could see that he had made her blush he went on"Amber you know I will be leaving back to my own country "!

"Yes!"she said turning to look at him.

"Well I have something I want to give you before I leave"!He said taking from his shirt pocket a small wooden box and opening it as he knelt on one knee!

Amber gasped at what was in the box a small gold ring with an amber gem on top!

She stared at it to happy for words her dream of marrying the man of her dreams all came back to her and she could not believe this was real she must be dreaming.

She pinched herself she slapped herself and blinked .

He was still there kneeling in front of her with a puzzled face as he said"Are you alright?"

By this time she was laughing and crying at the same time as she said"But you know I cannot leave the forest to come to your castle I would die "!

He smiled"I know that that is why I have decided if you will accept me I will give up my throne to my cousin and live with you".

"You would do that"?She gasped and looked at him with soft moist eyes.

"I would".He said looking at her earnestly.

She slapped herself once more then she said"It is real you are asking me and now I have you I accept"!

"Do you mean it"He said his eyes brightening and mouth turning into a beautiful smile.

She smiled back "I do accept this is what I have always wanted ".
And taking the ring she slipped it onto her hand and smiled.

He picked her up gently and held her like a little child as they kissed!

An annoying laugh broke the silence as Jasper said"Well ,well look at the two love birds!"

"Beat it" !Said Amber turning to him but was to happy to be angry.

And so things soon became green and they reached the forest and were married shortly after.

And spent the rest of their days living together with Jasper and Thimor who also got married.

Don’t ask me how there children turned out that is something you must decide for yourself for even I do not know the answer to that .


But one thing is certain they did all live happy ever after.
