Chapter Twelve.
The elf's of the White Mountains.


The world had changed before their eyes the word had become green with tall tree of colors so unimaginable reaching to the sky flowers of kinds never heard of before seemed to dance and look at you the forest seemed alive with happy song and singing.

Amber and Jasper felt the magic the warmth and hurriedly hoped out of the woolly pockets and laughed"We just entered paradise"! They both said in unison and laughed and turned to the others who were still taking in the whole scene.

But something strange was happening to both Thimor and Slevantus.

She was shifting from human to horse while sparkling with strong energy.
He on the other had was changing his hair turning white his eyes turning a light sky blue almost white and his cloths were changing and when it stopped there before them was a different Slevantus his hair was long and white like the elves, his eyes white blue like there’s. All together his whole appearance had changed from stone cold beauty to elfish beauty and Thimor had changed into human form.

He looked just as shocked as they did and wondered what in the world was going on. Then the three elfs came up and said"Welcome to our forest"!

"What just happened"!They all said in unison.

The elf smiled"All will be explained magic is strong hear and it makes you look what you really are in your heart. Even things you did not know could happen are to happen hear "."It is the best way to wear your heart on your face"!

"But you must follow me if you want a real explanation of what is going on "!

She turned and they followed her.

Amber turned to look at Danfare he had changed to his eyes were no longer golden they were brown and soft he was human in his heart not a wolf she smiled and wondered what she must look like probably the same she was after all elf in her heart and Jasper was fairy she satisfied herself by looking into the crystal stream she was still herself as was Jasper 。

She suddenly found herself in front of a hollow oak tree which was the largest widest tree she had ever seen.

The others stared up at it with wonder and the elf woman turned to them and said"When you meat Dyaid you must be ready for surprises she is the leader of this tribe and the most powerful women ever to live be very respectful and great her with my lady is that understood" ?

"Yes" they all said together.
”
"Good now go into the house and up the stairs she lives at the very top"."Do not open any other doors they are all magic and will take you to different worlds"!

They all nodded Thimor went first then Slevantus ,Danfare, Grendle, and the others followed behind they stairs were long and narrow and every time a step was taken it disappeared and appeared for the next person.There were doors on either side of the tree which would also disappear and reaper at each step taken.

At the very top was a door with a brass knob that sparkled but did not disappear Thimor reached it first and touched it and disappeared!
The others took it hesitantly and also disappeared !
They were taken into a room with a twisted vine sealing a table made of vines a bed mad of vines and a chair made of vines.
All covered with cloth dyed blue with the ink of blueberries and dividers made with shells that reflected rainbows as they parted and a small woman came out from behind the curtain .

She was dressed in a small white dress and white slippers her white hair which reached to the floor was done in one long braid.

She was small for an elf medium height and would come only up to Slevantus chest she had a pink rosebud mouth and when she looked up light brown eyes which seemed to shine with mystery.
She smiled and said in a high pitched soft girl’s voice"So you have come"!

She went up to Slevantus and said"You have grown my son you have changed much and you look nothing like your father all elfish in your heart!

Slevantus was not the only one who looked puzzled the others also looked at her with puzzled faces and wondered if she could really help them.

She looked at them all them seeing their face she said"Oh I see thing have not been explained to you fully yet well I will explain it all and with it the way we are to save the forest ".

They had all seated themselves around the table.

The woman who they all called mam polity smiled at them all she had a very motherly smile that warmed them to the bone and they all sat eager to hear her story.

"To start off I have to go back way back before any of you were born when I was still only a Student of Madum Gretle who has now moved on to be with the spirits "!

She crossed her fingers across each other as she crossed them against her heart and then looked up and smiled and looked at Slevantus"You look so much like him it is like he is sitting right her with me "!

They all looked at her strangely she went on"One fine day while I was working on my assignment Madam Gretle came in carrying a young man on her shoulders he was human and looked horrible half starved and half blue with cold she told me as we prepared a fire and get him warm. They had found him half dead on the mountain top he looked as if some evil creature had dropped him from the sky to die of cold.

As he was warming himself I got a good look at his face and knew right away who it was.The Prince Adress of the East!

"What is doing in this area"?

"I have not a clue we shall have to ask him.when he awakens".

So I waited patiently it took two days for him to recover.

When he did after explaining to him how we had found him I asked him the question and asked if he could remember how he had gotten hear?

It took him some time but he finally did remember.

"My rival cousin wanted the thrown and knew he could not have it unless he killed me or I died so one night he summoned a witch who told him she would help him if he made her his adviser to which he agreed !

So that night she sent a dragon who clawed me and that was the last thing I remembered".

"I think I know from there and we found you".I answered"We shall help you regain your rightful thrown once you regain your strength we are no fan of evil and darkness and witches"!

He thanked us very much as the days went by and he grew stronger and I cared for him a fondness grew between us and soon we were in love and eloped and I became pregnant!

When the elders found out about this I who was to be the next madam had gotten pregnant which was something never done before they told methat I would go with him to reclaim his thrown and stay there until the child was born then I was to leave him there as to hide him from knowledge of the other elves !

I was heartbroken to hear of it but it was not wise to argue with elders so I agreed and told him.

He too was sad about it but promised that he would take good care of his child.
I always loved him for that.

So after his thrown was claimed back I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy and right away he was taken from me and given to Adress sister who herself was a mother and she took care of him and nursed him I cried as he was taken from my arms and before he was taken I was granted the request to name him I called the baby Slevantus and never forgot his face .

Time went by I keep in touch and letters told me how my son was growing then one day sad news came to me my Adress had died of old age and Slevantus had been moved at the age of six to live with his uncle in his castle for Adress sister had also died so her husband’s brother took him in and from then on I lost all communication with him.

She looked up at all the shocked faces and smiled .

Slevantus for all his expressionless faces right now had a face frozen in shock!
He had been wanting to know for so long, been wondering his whole life ,but to find out the truth in this way to find out who he really was made him feel he didn’t know what he felt at all .

To many emotions weld up in him and there was a silence for a very long time.

Then Amber spoke“This is truly an amazing tale but what does this have to do with saving the forest” ?

Dyaid smiled up and said,“That is where the second part of my story which will come into place .Not long after I heard about the moving Madum Gretle was preparing to move on. I had already taken on her major responsibilities and one day while she was preparing to go she suddenly became rigid and a voice which was not hers spoke it said these exact words.

“Darkness despair and sorrow will fall upon land the queen of darkness will overcome the world only a miracle of prophecy will save the forest two must be intertwined one of the white soul the other a dark soul but both must be from magic which is rare so you will know who it shall be do not despair”!

She smiled up at them "it is very obvious although I did not understand at the time but I have the gift of foresight I have been watching you my son and seen the hardship that has befallen you but our blood line the blood of fortunetellers and magic elves was strong in you strong enough that the darkness which was so cruelly put on you was mild enough for a pure white soul of the unicorn to bond you to her two magic creatures and like the prophecy said one dark one white there are none other like you two you are the magic the power which will save the forest and fight off the evil witch".

Slevantus and Thimor looked up at her in surprise"We take on the most powerful witch in the world how could we do that" ?

Dyaid smiled and said"When she changed you you were an elf which in itself is just as powerful as she is then she turned you into a powerful creature of darkness by then you were twice as strong as she. It happens to all magic creatures who are changed into a more powerful creatures and finally the bond! The bond made you indestructible and now you are a force twice as strong as she will ever be".

Now everyone was looking at them in wonder.

Slevantus and Themor were overwhelmed and didn’t know what to think.

For the first time in her life Amber was speechless as were the others in all her years how could she ever imagine a story like this come true. It was her dream one day to marry someone unique and ironically she had fallen in love with him without knowing how unique he was.

"But"She wondered "did he at all feel the same for her"?

That was a question witch bothered her the rest of the day .

While the others talked and got to know the details of the battle.

Slevantus and Thimor were to lead the army to the black mountains and then they would see what they would see.
