Chapter Thirteen.
Dyaid.

Slevantus and Themor sat together at the end of the forest and stared out into the horizon they both had a lot on their mind.

Slevantus was thinking about the best way to explain to Thimor about his love for her and Amber without her becoming Jealous and Thimor who had seen certain hints on both sides was thinking how to tell him that she loved him and wanted to see him happy without breaking her own heart.

Now they both knew that they should be making battle plains but when you are in love or have just realized that the fate of the world rests on your shoulders or that your mother was an elf and you were snatched right under her noise and you have the blood of sorcery in you then it is very hard to think about anything else at the moment.

Finally Thimor spoke and said
"It’s a lot to take in all at once isn’t it".

He looked at her and smiled grimly.

She went on "but think about it you know now where you are from and now that you know are you happy"?

He was silent then said "I don’t know what to think "."I mean would you like to have a life like mine hoping all your life that you were someone special dreaming about it and then finding out you are more than just special you are of royal blood".

Thimor smiled "I can imagine it shocked me when I found out that I was related to Sholo the Queen of Unicorns the very first one ever but the shock faded after a while and you learn to live with it."
"But now we must stop thinking about ourselves the fate of the world and the forest is upon our shoulders you know we must make battle planes."

"Yes we must" He said and sat up "I know the palace for I have been there before and know the best way to enter but how to fight her is another matter she can only be killed with a sword through the eyes and only by this sword he said pulling out the sheathed bronze sword Dyaid gave it to me she told me how to kill her she said none of the elf's had had the strength to get closer to her there was a strong boundary blocking her that is unapproachable but she told me that together we could penetrate it".

Thimor shivered and said "Dear me just the thought of having to get near that witch gives me the shivers are you sure there is no other way ?

"She will be guarded heavily by creatures like myself who will have just as much strength as I do maybe stronger for they feast upon humans more then I do and that makes them stronger".

"But" said a voice behind them"The two of you together will become stronger then they. Remember my son what strong blood you have in your veins.The witch knew and she was hoping you would become one of her guards. But it was not so for only good was in your veins when the change was made so her plains to change you into a monster have gone amiss and now she must fight against her own creation".

They both turned to see Dyaid standing behind them .

She smiled and said "I hope Slevantus you can accept me as your mother and forgive me for allowing this fate upon you"!

He looked at her and said with a smile"Give me time please it is still much to absorb that you are my mother it is not something I could just embrace in a split second."

She smiled sadly "Of course" she said "of course." I understand"

And she turned and slowly faded into the trees.

"You know" said Thimor "I don’t think she even is an elf "!

"What do you mean"?

Thimor smiled"I am a unicorn remember I sense the unusual I can sense spirits and I have a sharp eye there are a few things about this woman that are making m believe more and more that she is as her name puts her a Dyaid a tree spirit".

Slevantus looked at her "what makes you think that"?

"Well first of all there is her size her eye color which is the color of theforest". "And think how long ago was the time when you were born only a spirit would not show age even elfs they live long but will show signs of age once they reach the age of 70" !"And she is older then that" ."And she is small and smooth as a girl of 17".
"And did you see just now how she disappeared into the forest as if she was part of it?".

Slevantus thought about it if it was so then he was sure that he was part tree spirit.

And he knew from myths and legends that tree spirits especially if they were oracles then they had the power to take a mountain and say grow me a tree and it would be done .

They you could say were even more powerful then the elf's for there skill in medicine and plants were beyond understanding!

He thought then said "if this is so the n I am half a tree spirit no wonder you were attracted to me in that way"!

Thimor smiled as she said "I have always been attracted to nature we Unicorns are part of nature"!

"This means something else "He said"It means that I am even more powerful then the vampires together we could overcome ten but this can only be if it is true we must find her and find the truth in the story".

They both stood up and headed into the forest to find out if what they thought was so.

Amber and Jasper sat together talking quietly amongst themselves while Grendle and Danfare sat on the opposite corner in silence they all felt it like they were useless now it there was nothing they could do to save the forest all the burden lay on the two magic creatures and they were tossed aside like useless garbage at lest that's how Grendle felt. Danfare would only stair into the forest and sigh.

Jasper and Amber had different ideas .

Amber and Jasper they were the most in tuned with nature they knew who Dyaid really was and that made them both see the need for the two even more .

They knew the power that a tree spirit had and were overwhelmed at speaking to one face to face

"She did not tell the real story"said Jasper."The real reason was that Dyaids are never supposed to get married to a mortele is because after a while it could kill the man and the he would come out powerful even as a baby.
It was forbidden and that is why they wanted the child dead but these tree spirits they have hearts as big as the tallest pine and she could not bear the thought of killing anything so she ran away with him before the elders knew about it gave birth there and went back before anyone else knew the tree spirits said nothing they were disappointed in her for bringing a horrible fate on an innocent child but they had not the heart to tell her that she should have killed him so he was forgotten and grew up."

"I see now why his Aunt wanted him he was powerful even she could sense it and that is why she changed him"."This plot goes deeper than I expected."Amber listened with silent nods. Agreeing with all he said.

The other two listened in silence and Danfare sighed and said"Well this is even more complicated then I imagined it to be."

Grendle who by this time had learned all about who Slevantus was really , Was way too shocked to speak and only stood there his mouth hanging open in astonishment.

Then he said" I always thought there was something strange about him but this is the most strange thing I have ever heard the most interesting mix of creatures con binned human and tree spirit" .

The rest of the group was silent as they pondered the meaning then Amber said
"Well to fulfill the prophecy we will march with him we will not abandon him knowing that he has come so close to victory and this way is the only way to save the forest".

"Indeed it it is the soft voice of Dyaid,

They looked up to see her standing above them. Slevantus and Thimor on her arms they were all wearing determined looks and they held out there weapons and said"For the forest"!.
